In Loving Memory

The Visionaries

In 2000, inspired by his own humble background, a visionary leader promised that rural children would have access to the same quality education as those in urban centers. Uniting in this mission, Sri V. Ramarao wholeheartedly supported Dr. M. Radhakrishna Murthy in building one of Rajamahendravaram’s most esteemed educational institutions.

Physician · Philanthropist · Man of Action

A Doctor Who Served Without Condition

Dr. M. Radhakrishna Murthy was a renowned physician and philanthropist — a doer rather than a preacher. He held a deep and unwavering belief that one's economic status should never be the reason for being denied quality healthcare or quality education. Throughout his life, he turned that belief into action: reaching families who could not afford care, supporting causes that mattered, and building institutions that would outlast him.

Healthcare and Education as One Mission

For Dr. MRK Murthy, medicine and education were two sides of the same coin — both were about lifting people up, restoring dignity, and giving the next generation a fair chance. His generosity was not performed for applause; it was the quiet, steady work of a man who understood that privilege carries responsibility. That spirit is woven into the very foundations of Sri Sadguru Vidyalayam.

(Late) V. Ramarao

Chemical Engineer · Educator · Visionary Administrator

A Teacher at Heart

Mr. V. Ramarao was a chemical engineer by education and a retired senior management executive at Jeypore Sugars — but above all, he was a teacher at heart. Even in his nineties, he would walk to the classrooms to clarify chemistry for students, patient and precise, never too important to teach. That love of learning, and that refusal to stand apart from the classroom, defined the culture he wanted for Sadguru.

The Administrator Who Built from the Ground Up

An astute administrator and visionary, Mr. Ramarao built the school from the ground up — not in grand gestures, but in careful, deliberate steps. He understood systems, people, and the long view. Under his stewardship, classrooms were planned, standards were set, and a culture of discipline and care took root. He was the architect of the institution's daily life as much as Dr. Murthy was the soul of its purpose.

Two Visions, One School

Dr. MRK Murthy and Mr. V. Ramarao complemented each other in ways that only true partners can. One brought medical compassion and philanthropic conviction; the other brought engineering precision, administrative acumen, and an educator's heart. Together they founded Sri Sadguru Vidyalayam in 2000 and, year after year, improved the campus and its infrastructure — not for show, but for the children who would walk its corridors. They were pioneers who placed Katheru firmly on the education map of Andhra Pradesh. Families who once had limited options found, in Sadguru, a school that treated their children as individuals — known by name, challenged with care, and formed for life. That legacy did not end with them. It lives on in every classroom, every result, and every act of service that carries the Sadguru name forward.

Honouring Our Founders

When (Late) Dr. M. Radhakrishna Murthy and (Late) Mr. V. Ramarao established Sri Sadguru Vidyalayam, Katheru was a town with big dreams and limited options for quality education. They believed every child — regardless of background — deserved a school that would treat them as individuals, not numbers.

What began with a modest number of students has grown into a family of over 1,200 learners, guided by the same principle: education is not just about marks, it is about moulding human beings.

Their vision lives on today under the leadership of our Correspondent and Director, Dr. M. Vedamani, MBBS, DGO — and in every student who walks through our gates.
