Our Story
Founded in 2000 in Chaitanyapuri, Katheru, Sri Sadguru Vidyalayam began with a simple belief: every child in the surrounding region deserves access to quality education that nurtures both mind and character.
From a small campus with just over a hundred students, we have grown into one of the most respected institutions in East Godavari district — now home to 1200+ learners and 50+ dedicated educators.
Our campus spans smart classrooms, science and computer laboratories, a well-stocked library, sports facilities, and 40 buses routes serving towns across the region. Yet what truly sets us apart is our community — teachers who know every child by name, parents who partner in their growth, and alumni who carry our values wherever they go.

A Family in Service of Education
Sri Sadguru Vidyalayam stands in Chaitanyapuri, Katheru — and the story of this school is the story of the Chaitanya family. In the year 2000, (Late) Dr. M. Radhakrishna Murthy and (Late) Mr. V. Ramarao came together with a shared conviction: that every child in this community deserved a school that would know them by name and form them for life.
Dr. Murthy was a renowned physician and philanthropist who believed that economic status should never deny anyone quality healthcare or education. Mr. Ramarao was a chemical engineer and retired senior executive at Andhra Sugars — a teacher at heart who built the school from the ground up with patience and precision. Together they complemented one another: one brought compassion and purpose; the other brought systems, discipline, and an educator's love for the classroom.
What they began with a modest number of students has grown into a community of over 1,200 learners — yet the principle remains unchanged: education is not merely about marks, but about moulding human beings.
Today, that founding vision is carried forward by Dr. M. Vedamani, MBBS, DGO — daughter of Mr. Ramarao and wife of Dr. Murthy — as Correspondent and Director of Sri Sadguru Vidyalayam. A distinguished physician and philanthropist in her own right, she assumed leadership with courage and grace after the founders passed away, ensuring the institution they built would not merely continue but flourish.
Under her stewardship, the Chaitanya family's commitment to education, healthcare, and community welfare lives on — in every classroom, every examination result, and every child who walks through our gates in Rajamahendravaram.
